What's New in Rona Land?

I'm really not sure when, but I have an academic journal article coming out in the Journal of Lesbian Studies, starting with Genesis chapter 1, covering Bible, science, and sociology, to show that sex and gender have always been NON-BINARY. I then explore the question of what to do with the language of sexuality, if everyone is non-binary.

I am now officially a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) student at the Pacific School of Religion (www.psr.edu) in Berkeley Ca.  My dissertation will explore non-binary identity in the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) through the use of Jewish commentaries and academic scholarship.  I hope to have this finished in 3 - 4 years.  My mother OBM called me a perpetual student, so I do have to live up to that!

Of course I continue to deal with my disabilities, and that's never a fun thing, but maybe I'll have good news soon!

Queer Liberation Seder

Please note that registration for the Seder will close Friday March 26 at Noon PDT. It will also be streamed on Facebook, and will be back posted onto my website after the Holiday.

Please click here for the video from the seder.

Please join us for the Queer Liberation Seder, SUNDAY March 28, at 6 PM PST.

Until all are FREE, none of us are truly free.  During this Seder, we will use the Queer Liberation Hagaddah. To respect those in recovery we will use only juice for the Four Cups. During our Seder meal, only fish and vegetarian food will be served.

Of course all Zoom participants are free to choose the type of juice or wine they use and the type of food they eat during the Seder.

We also recognize that there are many who are food and housing insecure, so we encourage contributions to appropriate organizations prior to the Seder to allow others to afford their own Seder meals and safety this Passover.

Join us for a special Kabbalat Shabbat Service

Friday February 12, 6:30 pm PST

Please note: This is also Repro Shabbat, sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women. Please Click Here for more information on this special Shabbat. My sermon will be focused on this event.

As a special nod to Black History Month, we will have a special addition of "Stand up MiKhamokha" which has tones of the Black Spiritual in. As we discussed last month, there are many thematic ties between the redemption of the Jews at the Sea, and the PARTIAL redemption of Black people in the US.

Please note: This service will be recorded, so if you are camera shy, please have your camera turned off... Thanks.
